1. Operators and contact

TechAbout Private Limited handles the Pakistan marketplace and TechAbout LLC handles the US marketplace. Their published contact addresses are listed below. Write to support@rentsafely.com for a privacy request and identify the account involved; do not attach sensitive documents to email.

2. Information and purpose

Current public forms collect contact details, messages, proposed listings, and rental inquiries to provide support and marketplace administration. Member accounts add authentication, consent, rental records, and security logs. We do not sell verification documents or family-reference details, publish them on listings, or use bank statements to advertise to members.

The verification process uses one accepted government identity document, address evidence, a redacted bank statement confirming the account holder's name, and two adult family references. A CNIC/NIC or passport is an identity document, not an insurance guarantee. Do not provide Social Security numbers, financial balances, transaction histories, full account numbers, card numbers, authentication codes, or unrelated family information. We do not create facial-recognition templates or run automated credit scoring.

3. Sensitive documents and references

Use the private verification workflow only when your account shows that intake is available. If screening, storage, or retention controls are unavailable, intake is closed. Never put documents in public listing photos, chat attachments, or email. Share reference contact details only with permission; we contact references only for the stated verification purpose. A reference is not a guarantor.

4. Location choices

A country preference or coarse country header may select the Pakistan marketplace. You can change the country yourself. Precise device location is requested only after you choose the nearby-location control. Public search uses approximate areas; exact home/pickup addresses are not public map pins. Location suggestions and maps are optional and may disclose the selected area to Google if you load them.

5. Sharing and international processing

RentSafely uses TechAbout-operated hosting for the Pakistan and US marketplaces. Private verification files are encrypted in the platform database and screened on the same hosting infrastructure, not sent to a public scanning service. Our email services use Microsoft 365 for support mailboxes and Resend for transactional messages and verification links when configured. Government IDs and statements are not sent through those email services. Providers may process account and email information internationally under their service terms and data-protection arrangements.

A rental request shares the renter's verified contact email and message with the owner for a reply. After confirmation, each party can access the other party's contact email and their own rental agreement, never the other party's verification documents. Optional Google Maps use is subject to Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and Maps terms (https://maps.google.com/help/terms_maps/). We do not load maps without your action.

6. Retention, rights, and security

Private verification uploads expire 30 days after receipt and are removed by the scheduled retention process, normally within 24 hours of expiry. Evidence connected to an unresolved dispute is preserved while that case is reviewed; support can explain and review a case hold. Encrypted database backups can retain an expired copy for up to seven additional days. A verification status can remain valid until its recorded review expiry after raw documents have been deleted; renewed checks may require a fresh upload.

We retain account, consent, agreement, and dispute records only for their stated operational purpose and applicable obligations. Access, correction, deletion, restriction, and other requests are considered under applicable law, with proportionate identity checks. Deletion cannot be promised where a lawful preservation duty applies. Contact support to close an account or challenge a hold.

No online service can promise absolute security. Report suspected unauthorized access promptly; account restrictions do not prevent you from contacting support. We do not claim that this notice has received legal approval or that identity checks eliminate fraud.
