Product protection and insurance
Verification and a rental agreement do not create insurance coverage.
1. No RentSafely insurance
RentSafely does not currently provide, arrange, underwrite, or guarantee product insurance. No listing badge, platform agreement, deposit, payment hold, or safety checklist is insurance. The platform does not promise to replace a lost item or reimburse damage.
2. Owner and renter responsibilities
The owner and renter must agree on appropriate protection and the allocation of risk before handoff. If insurance is required, check with the actual insurer that peer-to-peer rental, commercial use, named users, territory, dates, value, exclusions, and excesses are covered. Do not invent a policy number, claim a personal policy covers rentals without confirmation, or describe an item as insured without evidence.
3. Evidence and claims
Keep item condition records, the accepted agreement, actual cover confirmation where applicable, and prompt incident reports. Claims are made under the insurer's actual policy, not a platform promise. A dispute case can preserve records but cannot create cover after an incident. Nothing here excludes a right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
